This is every brand with at least one scored review on this site, listed alphabetically.

Four of these have gone

Eve went into administration in 2022. Brook + Wilde was liquidated in 2023. Casper and Leesa have left the UK market.

All four sold ten year guarantees on a product expected to last eight to fifteen years. Their pages are kept because people still own the mattresses and still search for them.

A brand name tells you very little on its own. Within a single range, the cheapest model is sometimes the best constructed: the Emma Original Lite at £199 has a pocket spring layer the £369 Original does not.

What to check whatever the brand

Is there a spring layer, how tall is it, and what is underneath it? Hybrid covers both a 25mm micro-spring comfort layer over foam and a 16cm pocket spring core.

What is the foam density? Decent comfort layers run 48 to 72 kilograms per cubic metre. Ergoflex is the only brand here that publishes it, and it has been trading since 2006.

What is the spring count in your size? Counts are quoted for a king, so a double has fewer and a single fewer still.

How long has the company traded? Free to check at Companies House in two minutes.

How this site works

Nothing on this site is paid for by a brand. No manufacturer has been given copy approval, a preview, or the chance to change a score. Where a link earns a commission, that never changes a score or a ranking, and products are removed from recommendations when they stop deserving the place.

Scores come from the same criteria every time: support, pressure relief, motion isolation, edge support, temperature, durability and value. Where a brand does not publish a specification, that is stated rather than estimated, because an absent number is itself information. Foam density and spring count for your own size are the two most commonly withheld.
