This policy explains what happens to your information when you use themattressguide.co.uk. It is written for the UK and reflects UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who runs this site
The Mattress Guide is an independent publication written and operated by Kyle Klinkradt. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, email info@themattressguide.co.uk.
What is collected
Nothing is collected about you until you choose to allow it, with one exception: the web server records standard request logs, which is unavoidable for any website to work.

Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It is loaded only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you reject, or ignore the banner, no request is made to Google, no Google script is downloaded, and no analytics cookie is set.
When analytics is enabled, IP anonymisation is on, and all advertising and personalisation signals are set to denied. This site runs no advertising, no remarketing and no ad cookies. Google acts as a data processor and may transfer data outside the UK under its standard contractual clauses. You can read Google's privacy policy.
You can withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Doing so deletes the analytics cookies from your browser.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, a commission may be paid at no extra cost to you. Those links pass through /go/ on this site, which records nothing about you and simply forwards you to the retailer. Once you arrive at the retailer, that company's own privacy policy and cookies apply, not this one. How this site is funded.
What this site does not do
- No advertising or remarketing cookies.
- No social media tracking pixels or embedded widgets.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone.
- No accounts, no newsletter sign-up form, no comment system that stores your details.
- No fonts, scripts or images loaded from third-party servers.
How long anything is kept
Server logs are held by the hosting provider for a short period for security purposes. Google Analytics data is retained for the period set in the property, currently the platform default. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser until you clear it or change it. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what happened before. Email info@themattressguide.co.uk and you will get a reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the cookie banner will reappear so you can make a fresh choice. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
