Terms and conditions
What this site is not
The Mattress Guide publishes general information and opinion about mattresses, bedding and sleep.
It is not medical advice, not legal advice, and not a substitute for a qualified professional. Nothing here should be used to diagnose, treat or delay treatment of any condition.
Using this site
You may read, link to and share pages from this site freely. Quoting a reasonable extract with a link back is fine.
Content may not be republished wholesale, scraped at scale, or presented as your own work. Scores, rankings and assessments are the site's own editorial output.
Accuracy and currency
Reviews and guides reflect the position at the time of writing. This category changes constantly: specifications are revised, model names are reused for different products, prices move daily and brands leave the market.
Reasonable care is taken to keep pages accurate and no guarantee is given that every detail is current. Check the specification with the retailer before buying, particularly depth, spring count for your size, firmness and trial terms.
Errors are corrected and logged publicly on the corrections page. If you find one, report it.
Scores and opinions
Scores are editorial judgements reached using consistent criteria: support, pressure relief, motion isolation, edge support, temperature, durability and value.
They are not laboratory measurements, not certifications, and not guarantees of how a product will suit you. Whether a mattress suits you depends on your weight, your sleeping position and your bed base, which no score can account for.
Where an assessment rests on published specification rather than hands-on use, the page says so, and where a brand does not publish a specification that absence is stated rather than estimated.
Affiliate links
Some links earn commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes a score, a ranking or a recommendation, and the full position is set out in the affiliate policy.
Your contract is with the retailer, not with this site. Purchases, delivery, returns, trials and guarantees are matters between you and whoever sells you the product.
Your statutory rights are unaffected
Nothing on this site limits your rights as a consumer.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and must last a reasonable length of time. Those rights are against the retailer who sold you the product, not the manufacturer, for up to six years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and five in Scotland.
Citizens Advice is the right starting point for a specific problem.
Third party sites
Links to retailers, brands, regulators and health organisations are provided for convenience. This site is not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their privacy practices or their accessibility.
Liability
This site is provided on the basis that you use the information at your own discretion. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for loss arising from reliance on it.
Nothing here excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The version on this page is the one that applies.
Governing law is the law of England and Wales.

How this site works
Nothing here is paid for by a brand. No manufacturer has copy approval, a preview, or the ability to change a score, and where a link earns a commission that never changes a ranking.
Where a brand does not publish a specification, that is stated rather than estimated, because an absent number is itself information. The corrections log and the products I will not recommend page are both public.
