MyPillow Review

In this Mypillow Review, we take a look at the pillow taking the tv advertising world by storm. With apparently over 40 million pillows sold, MyPillow is now in the UK market.

The MyPillow team have even established a UK-based factory, to cater for the UK market, with the factory being based in Coventry. With the MyPillow being made locally, this at least ensures that the pillow meets local regulations, as manufacturing regulations are much more strict than simple retail regulations. This means that there are more steps involved in making a product in the UK as apposed to simply selling it in the UK market.

This review will take an in-depth look at the Mypillow and highlight the good, the bad and the mediocre. The question we will answer in this review is whether the pillow is as good as it says, or whether it has just been marketed extremely well. We will be listing all the features as MyPillow explains them while providing feedback in each section.

Follow along as we explore the MyPillow in this in-depth MyPillow Review. If you are a person who prefers their cake before their vegetables, then head straight down to our summary at the end.

MyPillow Construction

The MyPillow that is available in the UK is manufactured in Coventry to be exact. The pillow follows manufacturing regulations to declare it as safe for use by customers. This speaks to the quality of the materials and construction of the MyPillow but does not speak to how it feels to sleep on.

The MyPillow is made using a shredded polyfill. MyPillow has patented its internal layers as an ‘interlocking fill’. The shredded interior is split into 4 various sizes that we will cover in the layers section a bit further down this review.

The MyPillow comes with 3 filling options. These options are colour coded and can be selected during checkout. The colour codes are yellow - least fill, white - medium fill and green - most fill. We will highlight what these layers mean for you as a sleeper in the comfort & support section further down.

Cover

The cover of your MyPillow is made from 100% cotton. The cotton in use in the premium pillows is cotton called Giza, which only grows between the Sahara Desert, the Mediterranean Sea, and the Nile River. The cover was designed to be breathable and ultra-soft, thanks to the use of Giza cotton. The cover is also finished with a sateen weave which was engineered to produce a luxurious finish. The MyPillow is also machine washable.

While most sleepers report enjoying the cotton covers because of its soft-feel, some sleepers have noted a feeling of warmth. To alleviate this we would suggest using a silk pillowcase or thinner pillowcase such as one made from polyester.

Layers

The internal shredded foams used come in 4 separate sizes to produce a more natural fill effect. This design was engineered to make the pillow feel more natural and traditional, as opposed to a single piece of memory foam. Further to this point, this design was engineered to produce a single contact supportive feel, with the 4 various size foam pieces filling gaps and supporting you.

A key aspect to note is that some sleepers have reported feeling the different size chunks as they lay on the pillow which speaks against the design properties mentioned but with thousands of reviews these may just be anomalies.

Similar pillows that use fillings are the Simba Hybrid Pillow and OTTY Adjustable Pillow. These pillows allow you to adjust the firmness and comfort.

Support & Comfort

MyPillow claim that this is “The World’s Most Comfortable Pillow™” and as you can see from the quote, they have even trademarked this statement. This is a bold claim in an industry that is so subjective, with sleepers being so different and having different personal preferences.

The MyPillow is filled with shredded polyurethane foam, split into 3 separate layers. These layers can be chosen to produce different firmness levels. The firmness levels can be chosen when buying the MyPillow and should relate to your preferred sleeping positions.

The use of MyPillow’s patented interlocking fill was designed to create a supportive feel, with each shredded piece moving according to your movements. It is important to note that front and side sleepers have reported feeling the individual chunks of shredded memory foam on their cheeks and face. This speaks against the design of the internal layers, as they are stated to join together under your head and have a traditional, soft feel.

MyPillow Customer Reviews

If you are interested in the MyPillow we would suggest that you look at the customer reviews both on MyPillow’s website and the third-party review sites.

While many customers are satisfied, there are a few that were not satisfied. This can speak to preferences, sleeping styles, expectations and other personal related details.

Another thing to mention is that MyPillow has received a lot of bad press due to the founder (Mike Lindell) being vocal about his political opinions and position.

If you are still undecided you can always have a look at our Best Pillow picks for you to consider.

Should I get a MyPillow?

To conclude this MyPillow Review we can state that the MyPillow is well marketed and has positive customer reviews to match the marketing. There are many negative reviews that are also worth considering when making your decision. We would suggest the MyPillow for those looking for:

  • A 2 pillow set (buy 1, get 1 free)
  • A pillow with customisable firmness
  • A washable pillow
  • A pillow with a trial and warranty period
