Dormeo's one genuinely distinctive idea is Octaspring: foam cut into individual cylinders, each compressing and recovering on its own, arranged in a layer.
That gives two real consequences. The gaps between cylinders are open channels, so air can move, which a foam slab cannot do. And each cylinder responds to the load directly above it, so the surface contours more locally.
The Memory Plus has none of that. It is a conventional memory foam mattress competing against every other conventional memory foam mattress, most of which are cheaper.

Judge Dormeo at the cash price
Dormeo operates a high list price with heavy, near-permanent discounting, in the same pattern I describe on the Emma deals page and the Eve review.
That makes list prices close to useless for comparison. A review ranking Dormeo against other brands using list prices is telling you nothing about the market.
Work out the cash price on the day, then compare it against what a spring core costs. Origin's Hybrid at £265 has up to 3,000 pocket springs, which is a different class of mattress from any foam slab.
A correction worth making

Brands with a signature technology are assumed to apply it across their range, and frequently they do not. Dormeo is known for Octaspring, foam cut into individually responding cylinders with open channels between them, and several Dormeo mattresses including the Memory Plus contain none of it. Check whether the model you are buying actually has the feature the brand is known for, because the brand name is not a specification.
Should you buy it?
Only as cheap memory foam judged on its own terms, at a genuine discount, for a spare room.
If Octaspring is why you are here, buy a model that has it. If construction is what matters, Origin and Otty give you genuine spring cores at comparable money.
