Tweak Duo Mattress Construction
The Tweak Duo mattress has a unique 3-layer design. A top open-cell polyurethane layer followed by a customisable and interchangeable comfort layer and finally supported by a layer of pocket springs. Tweak Slumber is also committed to reducing its environmental impact. All Duo mattresses are made locally here in the UK and meet all health and safety requirements.
The foams in their mattresses have been assessed by EUROPUR as well as the SPSC (Sleep Products Safety Council) and their manufacturer is a certified FIRA Gold member.
Tweak Duo Cover
The Duo mattress cover is a visco-elastic polyester blend. Visco-elasticity helps isolate vibration, dissipate energy (heat) and is quick-drying in nature. The make-up of the cover also allows for easy airflow for maximum breathability.
The Tweak Slumber Duo mattress cover is also practical, it includes 2 handles on each side (8 in total) for easy manoeuvring. The mattress is not only dust-mite resistant, but the cover is also hypoallergenic making this a perfect option for those with sensitive skin. Hygiene is also made simple by Tweak Slumber, the cover is made to be easily unzipped and machine washed. The cover ticks all the boxes for us!
Tweak Duo Mattress Layers
1. Open-Cell Polyurethane Layer (4cm)
The open-cell structure of this top foam layer allows for more airflow than regular polyurethane foam. Polyurethane is also more breathable and responsive than other foams such as memory foam, it adjusts to your positioning almost immediately.
2. Customisable Poly Foam Layer (10cm)
This is the layer we have been waiting to talk about. This is the visco-elastic comfort layer, it is very responsive and quickly conforms to your body shape.
This unique split layer is interchangeable and customisable. You have the option to select your own comfort layer for your side of the bed (soft, medium or firm), making it a great option for couples as compared to the other online mattress brands that follow the “one size fits all ” approach.
What we particularly appreciate is the flushness of the two sides so it still feels like you are sharing the same bed and not two separate mattresses. By having two separate comfort layers it also helps to minimise motion transfer from one side of the bed to the other.
Tweak Slumber found an issue many couples are currently facing and came up with a win-win situation.
3. Pocket Sprung Base Layer (10cm)
The support of the mattress comes from its 1000 full-sized pocket springs. They are individually wrapped, this ensures independent movement so you can move without your partner feeling any motion transfer. Generally, foam only mattresses don’t have enough edge support but the full-size springs minimise this issue and reduce edge collapse.

The total mattress thickness including its cover is 25cm, so your current bed sheets would fit. The Tweak Duo mattress can also hold up to 16 stone or 101 kg per side.

This means instead of trying a mattress in a traditional mattress retailer, you get to try the mattress in the comfort of your own home (without the salesman staring at you). If you are not 100% satisfied with the mattress you can return it and get a full refund.
The mattress is delivered free of charge and returns are done at no cost to you.
The Duo mattress also comes with a 10-year warranty, this ensures safety in the long run as well and shows the confidence Tweak Slumber have in their mattresses.
Tweak Duo Mattress Delivery
This is the first mattress we have reviewed that did not come in a box. It is vacuum-sealed and delivered wrapped in protective green plastic. We were genuinely concerned that it is not delivered in a box, however, what changed our minds was when it was delivered with a 2-man service. They will take the mattress to your room of choice and set it up, the delivery company is very professional and they offer planned deliveries if you need it on a specific weekday.
The delivery period is a bit slow compared to the other mattress brands we have reviewed here in the UK, you can wait up to 15 days.
Additional Services
