Cover Comparison

Emma vs Eve Cover

Emma Cover

The Emma cover is 100% polyester, which means it’s very durable. Polyester is also hydrophobic, which means that it dries rapidly. Emma has used hollow polyester fibres which regulates humidity very effectively. On the other side of things, the Emma cover has a grey underside, which is made of 87% polyester and 13% polypropylene making it extra resistant to scrapes and wearing over time. Complete with a 3D-mesh texture which supports air circulation and has non-slip properties

The Emma mattress also comes with 4 mattress handles for manoeuvrability and practicality. Adding to the convenience, the cover can be removed and machine washed at 40 degrees Celcius.

Eve Cover

The Eve cover is made from 98% polyester and 2% elastane. Polyester gives it a soft, stretchy feel and thanks to the honeycomb stitching, it is also very breathable. The cover is hypoallergenic, this means that it is designed not to cause allergic reactions or sniffles. A nice addition is that the Eve mattress cover is Oekotex certified which in short, means it is separately tested to assure no harmful chemicals are used during the manufacturing of it.

The Eve mattress top cover (not the side and underneath) is removable and machine washable at 40 degrees. What makes it even more practical is that it has 4 handles for manoeuvrability.

Verdict – Comparing the two covers, we can see that both include 4 handles and are washable at 40 degrees Celcius, it should be noted that Emma gets the edge on practicallity becasue the whole cover can be thrown in the wash whereas just the Eve’s top cover can be. Nevertheless, this is a great feature to have from the two brands.

Both designs make the mattress more breathable and allow for airflow, however, the Emma cover has the addition of non-slip properties on the base. In terms of certification we like the Eve mattress cover as the manufacturing is well regulated and has the added benefit of hypoallergenics.

Materials & Layer Comparison

Layer Comparison

Emma Layers

Below we list each layer and explain a bit about each. Inside the Emma mattress you will find 3 unique layers:

  • Airgocell® Layer – Complete with Emma’s very own top comfort foam, this layer contours to your body and keeps you cool throughout the night with its extra breathability properties.
  • Middle Memory Foam Layer – This layer is the balance, and moulds to your body as you sleep. This layer spreads your weight evenly through the mattress and contours accordingly.
  • Supportive Base Layer – This layer includes shoulder and hip zoning for correct spinal alignment, this base layer is sturdy and a strong foundation for the mattress layers above.

Eve Layers

The Eve mattress is a foam mattress with 3 unique foam layers:

  • Evecomfort® Layer – The first layer is 30 times more breathable than regular foam thanks to Eve’s open-cell technology. This layer not only gives you the bounce and breathability but also dissipates heat, keeping you at the right temperature throughout the night.
  • Transition Memory Foam Layer – Strategically placed in between the other layers to transfer your body weight evenly through the mattress. This foam layer is what contours to your body and also relieve pressure.
  • Dense Core Support Layer – The last layer is the support layer and is there to prevent sagging over time. Complete with 7 unique contour zones or slits in the mattress that act as zoning to relieve pressure. This layer also keeps your spine aligned correctly while you sleep.

Verdict – Comparing the two, layer by layer, we can see that they are similar. Both brands have zoning areas on their bases, more breathable or cooling foams on top and body moulding foam in between to be the balance in the mattress. The main differences which you will find in our table as you scroll down is that the Emma mattress has a thicker base as compared to the Eve mattress, which may make the Emma feel a bit more supportive. But in contrast the Eve has a thicker top comfort and memory foam layer.

Comparing Firmness & Feel

emma vs eve firmness comparison scale
Emma vs Eve on the Firmness Scale

Emma Firmness

The Emma mattress has a medium to medium-firm feel and is given a 6,5 out of 10 on our firmness scale.

Eve Firmness

The Eve mattress also is a medium to medium-firm feel and is awarded a 6,5 out of 10.

Verdict – Both mattresses in the Emma vs Eve comparison are a medium to medium-firm feel (6.5/10). According to sleep specialists, spinal alignment is best kept corrected from medium-firm mattresses. So both these firmnesses will have your back, even by a professionals standards. From many customer reviews we have seen that the Emma may feel slightly firmer as compared to the Eve becasue as previosly explained the Emma mattress has a slightly thicker dense base layer which is used as the support of the whole mattress.
