Ergoflex 5G Mattress Review
If you specifically want memory foam rather than a hybrid, this is the one I would buy, for a reason most reviews miss entirely.

Verdict
If you specifically want memory foam rather than a hybrid, this is the one I would buy, and for a reason most reviews miss entirely. Ergoflex has been trading since 2006, which makes it the only mattress-in-a-box brand in the UK that has been in business longer than the ten year warranty it offers.
Buy it if
You want memory foam done properly by a company with a track record longer than its own guarantee period.
Avoid it if
You sleep hot, or you need more than thirty days to decide. Both are real limitations here.

The scores
The most credible memory foam mattress in the UK, held back by a short trial.
Fair for genuinely high density foam. You are paying for materials rather than marketing.
Nine centimetres of high density visco over a high resilience base. Well graded.
Deep memory foam with an airflow layer. Still memory foam, still warm.
All foam, no reinforcement. The category limitation.
Nine centimetres of high density visco. Nothing transmits.
Ten years is credible here. Thirty days is short when everyone else offers 100 to 365.
The argument nobody makes for Ergoflex
Every bed-in-a-box brand in Britain offers a ten year guarantee. Almost none of them have existed for ten years.
Emma launched in the UK in 2017. Simba in 2016. Otty in 2016. Origin more recently still. Each is promising to honour a claim in 2036 on the strength of a trading history shorter than the promise itself. Brook + Wilde's 2023 liquidation and Eve's 2022 administration are what that risk looks like when it materialises.
Ergoflex has been trading since 2006. That is the full guarantee period, twice over. It is the only brand in this category where the company has demonstrably outlasted the promise it is making, and on a product you expect to own for eight years, that is worth more than a spec sheet.
It is also the reason this scores 6 on trial and guarantee rather than 4 despite the thirty day trial being the shortest on this site. A credible ten years partly offsets a short thirty days.
High density foam, and why it matters here
Ergoflex specifies nine centimetres of high density visco-elastic foam, which is unusual because most brands will not tell you anything about their foam density at all.
Density is the best available predictor of how long a foam mattress holds its shape. Low density foam can start developing body impressions within three to five years. High density foam holds considerably longer. The cost of foam is dominated by density, which is exactly why brands competing on price stay quiet about it.
A brand that leads with high density and backs it with an eighteen year trading history is making a different argument from a brand that leads with layer counts and awards. I find the first argument more persuasive.
The thirty day problem
Thirty days is the shortest trial of any mattress on this site and it is a genuine weakness rather than a quibble.
Two to four weeks is roughly how long your body takes to adapt when moving from a sagging mattress to a supportive one, and that adjustment often involves some discomfort before it improves. A thirty day trial ends almost exactly when you would be able to judge properly.
If you are confident memory foam is what you want, that matters less. If you are experimenting, buy something with a hundred nights or more.
A correction worth making
Commonly repeated, and wrong
Ten year mattress guarantees are compared across brands as though they are equivalent promises, and the length of the guarantee tells you nothing without the trading history behind it. A ten year guarantee from a company founded in 2017 is a promise about 2027 from an entity with no record of honouring anything at that horizon. Brook + Wilde's 2023 liquidation and Eve's 2022 administration show what happens when that gap closes badly. Check how long the company has traded before valuing the number.
Should you buy it?
Yes if you specifically want memory foam and you already know that is what suits you. It is the most credible brand in that category in the UK.
No if you sleep hot, which memory foam will not fix, or if you need time to decide, because thirty days is not enough. In both cases a hybrid such as the Otty Original is the better answer.
Questions people ask
Is Ergoflex a trustworthy brand?
It has been trading since 2006, which is the full ten year guarantee period twice over. It is the only mattress-in-a-box brand in the UK where the company has demonstrably outlasted the promise it is making. Brook + Wilde's 2023 liquidation and Eve's 2022 administration show what the alternative looks like.
Is the Ergoflex trial long enough?
No, and it is the weakest part of the offer. Thirty days is the shortest on this site, and two to four weeks is roughly how long your body takes to adapt when moving from a sagging mattress to a supportive one. The trial ends almost exactly when you could judge properly.
Are ten year mattress guarantees all the same?
No. The length tells you nothing without the trading history behind it. A ten year guarantee from a company founded in 2017 is a promise about 2027 from an entity with no record at that horizon. Check how long the company has traded before valuing the number.
