Sonno Discount Codes
Sonno sells essentially one mattress, which removes two pricing games and makes the discount easier to judge than most.
I earn a commission if you buy through some links on this page. It never changes what I recommend, and I publish negative verdicts on brands I earn from. Editorial independence.
Prices and codes move
Everything below describes how these discounts work rather than promising a number that will still be live when you read it. Percentages and thresholds change weekly. Check the cash price on the day and judge that, not the discount.
A one-mattress brand cannot play either pricing game
Across almost every range on this site, two patterns recur.
The entry model is priced to flatter the one above it. Simba's Hybrid Essential at £549 scores 5.2 here, the lowest mattress score on this site, and it exists as an anchor rather than to compete against the market.
The flagship runs into better competition. At the top of a range the price has risen into a bracket where other brands compete directly.
A single-model brand can do neither. There is no cheaper version to make this one look reasonable and no dearer one to upsell you to, so the price has to stand against the market rather than against a stablemate.
That makes a Sonno discount unusually easy to evaluate. There is no internal comparison to be confused by. Note the cash price and put it directly against Origin's Hybrid at £265 and Otty's Original at around £500.
The trial matters more here than elsewhere
There is nothing to exchange into
One mattress cannot be right for everyone, because firmness is experienced differently depending on your weight.
A mattress compresses until its resistance matches your weight. A ten stone sleeper reaches that point in the first few centimetres and finds it firm. An eighteen stone sleeper compresses further and finds the same mattress soft.
So a single medium-firm specification works well for the middle of the range and less well at either end. And with one model, there is no alternative to exchange into if it is wrong. The return has to work.
Check whether what is offered is a genuine sleep trial or a returns window on an unused mattress. Those are different products described in similar language, and once you have slept on it under the second one, it is yours.
Compare that against Nectar's 365 nights and Silentnight's 60 night comfort exchange, which lets you change firmness rather than only return.
Who it suits, and who it does not
Buy it if you are of average build, you want a straightforward mid-market mattress, and you find tiered ranges more confusing than helpful. See the Sonno review, which scores 7.0.
Do not buy it if you are under about ten stone or over about sixteen. At those ends a brand with a firmness range will serve you better, and no discount compensates for a firmness that does not suit you for eight years.
The four free checks on any smaller brand
Companies House, free and two minutes, for the trading entity and its age. The guarantee against the trading history, because a ten year promise from a young company is a promise about an undemonstrated future. The trial terms rather than the trial length. And the specification rather than the adjectives: depth, spring count for your size, pocketed or linked springs, and firmness.
Ten minutes, free, and more useful than any code.
The one rule that beats every code
Ask whether the cash price is good for what you are getting. Not whether the discount is big. Not what the crossed-out number says.
If a mattress is worth the money you would hand over today, buy it. If it is only attractive because of the figure beside it, the discount is doing the persuading.
This matters more in mattresses than almost any other category, because several brands run high list prices against near-permanent discounting. A percentage off a price that has rarely been charged is not a saving.
The Competition and Markets Authority has been active here. It secured undertakings from Simba in August 2024 requiring that was and now prices reflect genuine previous selling prices, and a consent order from Emma in May 2026 over urgency countdown timers, which were found unlawful. Emma separately won at trial in July 2026 on reference pricing, after which the CMA withdrew that guidance. The regulatory picture is live and worth knowing; the practical defence does not change either way.
Questions people ask
Is a one-mattress brand worse value?
Not structurally. With one model there is no cheaper version to make it look reasonable and no dearer one to upsell you to, so the price has to stand against the market rather than against a stablemate.
Can one mattress suit everyone?
No. A mattress compresses until its resistance matches your weight, so a ten stone sleeper finds it firm and an eighteen stone sleeper finds the same mattress soft. A single medium-firm specification works best for the middle.
What should I check before buying from a smaller brand?
Companies House for the trading entity and its age, the guarantee length against that history, the trial terms rather than the trial length, and the specification rather than the adjectives.
