Last Updated: July 5, 2021

In this Noa Luxe Mattress Review, we will be highlighting all the best features and properties that this hybrid design comes with. The Luxe Mattress is described as a premium hybrid mattress that uses eco-friendly and high-quality materials. Some of the natural materials used even produce natural properties, but we will get to that as we go through this in-depth review.

The Noa name comes from one of the founder’s sons, Noah, which means to bring peace and comfort. This is also the mission at Noa, to not only produce products that create this feeling but also to create this feeling in their customers.

In this review, we will be unpacking each layer, discovering properties of the mattress and much more. Research shows✓ that the right mattress can make a huge difference for people with back problems, so take a moment to read through this in-depth Noa Luxe Mattress Review for all the details on this hybrid mattress. If you are someone who prefers your cake before your dinner, then head down to our summary at the end.

Our summaries include highlights of the in-depth review in a concise and simple conclusion.

Noa Luxe Mattress Construction

The Noa Luxe Mattress is a hybrid design that, according to the brand, is made using premium, eco-friendly materials. In total, the Noa Luxe Mattress has 6 internal layers, 2 of which are spring layers whereas the other 4 layers are foam variations. We will unpack each layer in detail in the sections to come. For now, however, we can explore the certifications of the mattress.

An interesting fact about the Noa Luxe Mattress is that each layer in the mattress has its own certification. The mattress industry is highly regulated, restricting the use of some chemicals and processes that create unsafe products for customers. The memory foam layers in the Noa Luxe Mattress are all REACH certified, which is the EU equivalent to the CertiPur-US certification that is used in the US and deems the product safe for use/ free from harmful chemicals. The cover used for the Noa Luxe Mattress is OEKO-TEX certified

The materials used in the Noa Luxe Mattress are also low in volatile organic compound (VOCs) emissions for indoor air quality.

Noa Luxe Mattress Cover

The Noa Luxe Mattress is wrapped in a hand-tufted, Tencel poly-knit fabric cover. The cover is designed in two parts, the top and the side panels. The top part of the cover was designed as a pillowtop finish, to create a soft-to-touch feeling as you lay down. The cover is also breathable, which means that it promotes great airflow and allows air to escape.  The cover is not removable or washable, spot cleaning can be done but is not advised. Noa suggests that you utilise a mattress protector immediately, to protect your sleeping surface.

The Tencel used in the cover creates natural properties in the product, these include hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties. This could be an important factor to take into consideration for those with sensitive skin or prone to allergens.

The natural properties are not the only stand out feature of the cover. While the main purpose of the cover is to secure the internal layers in place, the cover of the Noa Luxe Mattress was also designed to minimise body impressions and wrinkling of the fabric over time.

The Noa Luxe Mattress Cover is completed with mattress handles for easy manoeuvrability.

Noa Luxe Mattress Layers

1. Cooling Gel Memory Foam

The first layer, sitting below the cover, is an open-cell, cooling gel memory foam layer. This layer was designed to provide gradual body contouring as you lay down and is a common component in gel mattresses. Another feature of this memory foam is that it wicks heat away. This layer, in combination with the breathable cover, will help the hot air to flow away from your body and out of the mattress.

2. Comforting Memory Foam

Next, we find an open-cell memory foam. This layer was designed to wick away moisture and promote breathability, further protecting you from overheating. The purpose of memory foam mattresses is to provide deep pressure relief, body contouring and cushioning wherever your body needs it the most.

3. Micro-Coils

The third layer in The Luxe is a micro-coil layer. This layer was designed to expand and contract in response to the pressure of your body. Each micro-coil is set inside a highly permeable mesh, promoting airflow and making this layer breathable. This further promotes the breathability of the mattress, allowing air to flow away from your body in order to help achieve the ideal body temperature while sleeping.

4. Transition Foam Layer

Also known as the zero partner disturbance layer, fourth on the list of layers is the transition foam layer. This layer was designed to provide motion isolation that localises your partner’s movements to their side, without waking or disturbing you. This is perfect for those sleeping next to a partner who's restless or fidgety. It also helps for further comfort and protection against direct contact with the springs underneath.

5. Zoned, Pocket Spring Layer

The base of the mattress is where we find the pocket springs. It is designed in five areas of ergonomic support, strategically placed around your waist and lower back to help ensure a correct spinal alignment. Each spring is made from thick-gauge steel and is encased individually in a highly permeable mesh. This design creates a highly breathable spring layer, allowing air to flow not only between the springs but even through the springs and the entire layer.

6. Perimeter Edge Support

The final layer sits around the perimeter of the mattress and is made from high-density foam. This layer was designed to minimise sagging on the edge of the mattress. This allows you to sleep close to the edge and creates a more even sleep surface. This layer was also specifically designed to help remove any direct contact with the springs. This means that you will get the benefits of the spring layer without feeling the steel on your body.

Thickness of The Noa Luxe Mattress

The Noa Luxe Mattress stands at a total of 30 cm tall, which is generally the norm for luxury/ premium mattresses, and meant to provide more comfort and support. Because of the height, we suggest that you check your measurements of your bed and bedding to ensure they will fit.

Noa Luxe Mattress Firmness

The Noa Luxe Mattress is ranked as a 7-8 out of 10. Noa also states that this firmness is preferred by customers as it suits most body types and sleeping positions.
