Hypnia Hybrid Mattress Review
I cannot give this mattress a score, and the reason is the most useful thing on this page. Hypnia's UK trading status is unclear.
I earn a commission if you buy through some links on this page. It never changes what I recommend, and I publish negative verdicts on brands I earn from. Editorial independence.
Verdict
I cannot give this mattress a score, and the reason is the most useful thing on this page. Hypnia's UK trading status is unclear: the site appears live, and at least one UK review source states the brand no longer trades here. Until that is resolved, buying is a risk I would not take.
Who should buy it
Nobody, until the UK trading position is confirmed.
Who should avoid it
Everyone, for now. An unresolvable warranty is worse than a mediocre mattress.

Why there is no score on this page
Unresolved
Hypnia's website appears to be live and the brand has historically sold in the UK. At least one UK review source states it no longer trades here. I have not been able to confirm which is correct, and I am not going to score a mattress you may not be able to buy, return or claim against.
Scoring a product whose availability I cannot confirm would be worse than saying nothing. Most sites in this category solve this problem by leaving old reviews up unchanged, which is how Casper and Leesa still appear in current UK best-of lists five years after they left.

What to check before buying from any brand in this position
This applies well beyond Hypnia, so it is worth having a procedure.
- Find the legal entity. Look for a company name and number in the website footer or terms. If there is no UK company named anywhere, that is your answer.
- Check Companies House. It is free. Look at the filing history and whether the company is active, dormant or in liquidation.
- Email them a question before ordering. Ask who collects a mattress during the trial and who administers a warranty claim in the UK. A brand that cannot answer that clearly has answered it.
- Buy through a retailer you recognise if you buy at all. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 sit with the seller, so a UK retailer you can find is worth more than a brand you cannot.
What to buy instead
If you arrived here because Hypnia looked like good value, the same money buys mattresses from brands whose UK position is not in question.
Origin Hybrid at 265 pounds with up to 3,000 springs, Otty Original at around 500 with a 16 centimetre spring core, or Inofia at around 210 if the budget is tight.
A correction worth making
Commonly repeated, and wrong
Mattress review sites routinely leave brand reviews live long after the brand has stopped trading in the UK, because a page that ranks is a page that earns whether or not the product exists. Casper withdrew from the UK in July 2020 and Leesa no longer sells here, yet both still appear in current UK best-of lists. Before trusting any mattress review, check whether the page states when it was last verified, and whether the brand still has a UK presence at all.
Should you buy it?
Not until the UK trading position is confirmed. This is not a judgement on the mattress, which may well be perfectly good. It is that a mattress you cannot return and cannot claim against is not a purchase, it is a gamble with an eight year commitment attached.
This page will be updated when the position is clear, and the change will be logged on the corrections page.
Questions people ask
Does Hypnia still sell in the UK?
Unconfirmed. The website appears live and at least one UK review source states the brand no longer trades here. I have not been able to confirm which is correct and I will not score a mattress you may not be able to buy, return or claim against.
How do I check whether a mattress brand still trades in the UK?
Find the legal entity in the website footer or terms, check it on Companies House for free, email asking who collects during the trial and who administers a UK warranty claim, and buy through a retailer you recognise, because your Consumer Rights Act protection sits with the seller.
