Mela Weighted Blanket Construction
This weighted blanket from Mela is made from glass pellets and an outer cotton shell.
The glass pellets which give the blanket its weight and help mould the entire blanket around your body are anti-rustle and SGS certified. You may be wondering what that exactly means. Well, this just means Mela can demonstrate that their products, processes, systems or services are compliant with national regulations and standards.
The shell keeping the glass pellets is made from 100% cotton. The benefits of cotton is that it is naturally temperature regulating, soft on the skin and durable. This otter shell is also stitched in a somewhat diamond pattern to keep the pellets equally spread apart, ensuring the weighted blanket moulds to your body shape in an even fashion.
Additionally, the Mela blanket and cover (which we will get into shortly) are Oeko-Tex certified which mean it is free from harmful chemicals, keeping their products in line with their goal.
