Eight hundred springs at 25 centimetres for a list price of 849 pounds. That is the weakest springs-per-pound figure of any mattress I have reviewed. Eve discounts it heavily and regularly, and even at 40 percent off there are better-specified hybrids at the money.
Buy it if
You have found it at 50 percent off, you want a medium feel, and you can try one in a Bensons store.
Avoid it if
You are paying anywhere near list price, or spring count is part of your decision.

The Eve situation
Eve is owned by Bensons now
Eve Sleep entered administration in October 2022 and the brand now trades under Bensonsforbedsretail Ltd. Buying new means buying from Bensons, which is large and established. If you own a pre-2022 Eve, guarantees do not automatically survive an administration, and your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 sit with the retailer who sold it to you, not the brand.
The practical upside is that you may be able to lie on one in a Bensons store, and on any mattress that is worth more than a review. The practical downside is that the Eve name carries reputational weight from a company that no longer exists in its original form.
Eight hundred springs, and what that means
Spring count is not everything and I say so throughout this site. But there is a floor, and 800 springs across a king size mattress is close to it.
Fewer springs means each covers a larger area, so the mattress responds to the general region your hip is in rather than the shape of your hip. For an average build at a medium firmness that is workable. For a heavier sleeper, or a side sleeper needing the shoulder to sink independently of the waist, it is not enough gradation.
Compare it to Eve's own Wunderflip Premium at up to 2,500 springs, or the Premium Hybrid at 1,400. Within Eve's own range this is the thinnest spring unit, and it is the most expensive entry price of any brand's base hybrid on this site.
A correction worth making
Commonly repeated, and wrong
Eve's list prices are quoted in comparison articles as though they are the prices people pay, which produces rankings that bear no relation to the market. Eve discounts this model heavily and continuously, frequently at 40 percent and sometimes closer to 50. Judge it at around 500 pounds, where it is merely ordinary, rather than at 849, where it is indefensible. The same applies to every brand running a permanent discount model.
Should you buy it?
Only at a deep discount, and only if you have lain on one. At around 500 pounds it is an acceptable medium hybrid. At list it is the worst value on this site.
