Mlily Memory 200 Review

Mlily's entry all-foam mattress and the model where the numbering misleads people most. The 200 is a tier marker, not a spring count.

Verdict

5.9/ 10

Mlily's entry all-foam mattress and the model where the numbering system misleads people most. The 200 is a tier marker, not a spring count, because there are no springs. It is a competent cheap foam mattress and the rest of Mlily's range is more interesting.

Buy it if

You want the cheapest way into a brand with a large UK range, for a spare room.

Avoid it if

You assumed the 200 meant springs, or this is going in a bed used nightly by an adult.

Decoding the range

Decoding Mlily's model numbers

Mlily runs one of the largest ranges in the UK, with more than twenty mattresses across six collections, and the numbering is the only reliable way to navigate it.

  • Memory 200, Memory Gel 200 and 500. All-foam. The number is a tier indicator rather than a spring count, because there are no springs.
  • Gel 1000 and Ortho Gel 1000. Entry hybrids. The number is the spring count.
  • Deluxe 2000, 3000, 4000. Mid-range pocket sprung. Number is the spring count.
  • Premier 1000 to 3000, with Ortho variants. The main range. Number is the spring count; Ortho means a firmer build.
  • Supreme 5000, 8000, 10000. High spring count flagships.
  • Haluna Natural 1500, 2500, 4000. Natural fillings.

So the rule is: in every range except the foam ones, the number is springs in a king size. That is more informative than most brands manage and it is the reason this range is easier to shop than it first appears.

Why I would skip this one specifically

Mlily's sprung ranges are the reason to look at this brand. The Premier, Deluxe and Supreme collections give you clearly stated spring counts across a wide price ladder, which makes them unusually easy to compare against rivals.

The Memory 200 gives you none of that. It is an all-foam mattress with no published density, competing against Emma, Nectar and a hundred unbranded alternatives doing the same thing.

If your budget stops here, the Inofia Elegant at around 210 pounds gives you 27 centimetres and a spring core for similar money, and Emma's Original Lite at 199 has a three-zone spring layer.

A correction worth making

Commonly repeated, and wrong

Model numbers across mattress ranges are widely assumed to mean spring count, and in Mlily's foam collections they do not. The Memory 200 and Memory Gel 200 contain no springs at all; the number is a tier marker. In Mlily's Gel, Deluxe, Premier, Supreme and Haluna ranges the number genuinely is the spring count in a king size, which makes the foam ranges the exception rather than the rule and the most likely place for a buyer to be caught out.

Should you buy it?

Only for a spare room, and only if the price is genuinely the lowest available.

Mlily's sprung ranges are where this brand becomes worth your attention. The Premier 2000 is a better starting point for anyone buying a mattress to sleep on nightly.

Questions people ask

Does the Mlily Memory 200 have 200 springs?

No, it has none. It is an all-foam mattress and the 200 is a tier marker. In Mlily's Gel, Deluxe, Premier, Supreme and Haluna ranges the number genuinely is the spring count in a king size, which makes the foam ranges the exception.

Which Mlily mattress should I buy?

The sprung ranges are where this brand becomes interesting, because the numbering states the spring count clearly. The Premier 2000 is a sensible starting point for anyone buying a mattress to sleep on nightly.
