Buy it if
You are furnishing a spare room, a first flat, or a teenager's bed, and you want something that will not sag in two years.
Avoid it if
It is going in your own bedroom and you will sleep on it every night for eight years. Spend the extra on the Original.

1,000 shorter springs at 23cm is a thinner build. Fine at average weight, not beyond.

What you give up against the Original
Three things, and they are all measurable rather than matters of taste.
Two centimetres of depth. 23 cm against 25 cm. That sounds trivial and it is not, because the depth has come out of the comfort layers rather than the springs.
Half the springs, and shorter ones. Up to 1,000 at 14 cm against up to 2,000 at 16 cm. Fewer contact points and less travel in the spring, which means less progressive support under heavier load.
A softer rating at 6 out of 10. That sounds like a benefit and for a lighter sleeper it is. For anyone above average build it means you reach the bottom of the comfort layers sooner.
None of that makes the Aura a bad mattress. It makes it a 150 pound cheaper mattress, which is exactly what it is priced as.
Why it is the right guest room mattress
Most people buy a cheap all-foam mattress for a spare room and it is the wrong instinct. A guest bed is used intermittently, sits in a room that is often colder, and needs to feel acceptable to a stranger whose firmness preference you do not know.
A hybrid handles all three better. It does not stiffen in a cold room the way memory foam does. It does not develop a permanent impression from occasional heavy use. And a medium 6 out of 10 is the firmness most likely to suit an unknown guest.
At around 350 pounds the Aura does that job better than anything all-foam at the same money, and it will still be doing it in eight years.
As a main bed, honestly
If your budget genuinely stops at 350 pounds, the Aura is a better purchase than an all-foam mattress at the same price, and I would take it over the Nectar Classic Memory Foam without hesitation.
But if you can find another 150 pounds, the Original Hybrid is a materially better mattress and the gap will matter more each year you own it. This is the one place in the Otty range where I would push someone to spend more.
Should you buy it?
For a spare room, a student flat, a child moving to a full-size bed, or a holiday let: yes, and it is close to the best thing at the money.
For the bed you sleep in every night: only if 350 pounds is genuinely the ceiling. Otherwise the Original Hybrid is where the range gets good.
