In this Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress review, we take a look at a "premium mattress" in the budget range. Simba has created this mattress using its best quality foams and technology while still making it very affordable.

We will put the premium in the mattress to the test, identifying the features and properties that make it a premium budget choice. We will highlight the layers and their details, the interesting properties of the mattress and much more.

Follow along with this full review of the Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress. If you prefer to skip the in-depth review but want to know the stand-out details, check out our summary at the end.

Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress Construction

The common trend in the mattress industry follows a 3 layer design, with a total depth of 25cm. The Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress, however, follows the new budget mattress trend. This new trend features a shallower depth, with 2 internal layers.

It features no motion transfer which is designed to support you from all angles and makes it less likely that a restless partner will disturb the other. To avoid overheating, which memory foam is known for, Simba has included cooling technology in the top layer. These layers are engineered to work together, producing a cooler sleep. We will uncover each temperature regulating property per layer, as we unpack the layers.

Cover Review

It features a premium sleep surface. The cover is completed with a knitted finish, that is designed to produce a soft sleeping surface. The cover is also breathable, which aids the temperature regulation of the mattress. This works by moving hot air away from your body, keeping not only you cool but also your sleep surface.

The premium knitted cover is also hypoallergenic. This means that it was designed to suit those with allergies, sinus issues and those with sensitive skin. The cover has even more safety features in place and is certified to the Oeko-Tex 100 standard. This ensures that the cover is "harmless in human ecological terms".

Mattress Layers

1. Simbatex Comfort Layer

The Simbatex comfort layer is the initial layer in this premium budget mattress.

Simbatex is Simba’s very own foam technology that is constructed with open cells. This design is engineered to prevent overheating, adding to the temperature regulation properties of the mattress. This is done by allowing hot air to flow through the pores, moving heat lower and further from your body.

This comfort layer also adds some bounce and comfort to the mattress. The comfort in this layer comes from the body moulding of the foam that gently cradles you in your sleeping position.

2. Zoned High Definition Base

The Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress features a high definition foam base. This provides the support and foundation for the mattress.

The base features 7 ergonomic pressure zones to evenly distribute your weight while providing support for each body area. Ergonomics are basically scientific methods that aim to tailor objects to humans. We can describe this further by saying that the 7 zones were scientifically designed to suit and support a human body. These zones aid in pressure relief and help with spinal alignment, ensuring that you are supported correctly while you sleep, whichever position you decide to sleep in.

The 7 zones also aid in the breathability of the mattress as they are cut-outs in the base. Thus, the temperature regulation of the mattress continues to the base, as far away from you as possible.

Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress Firmness

The Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress was designed to suit any type of sleeper. Whether you prefer sleeping on your back, front, side or even curled up in a ball, this mattress has been engineered to be perfectly balanced. This basically means that the premium foam materials are created to adapt to your preferred sleeping position.

The Simba Premium Seven-Zoned Foam Mattress is rated around a 6 out of 10, which is neither too hard nor too soft but is designed to suit any sleeper in any position.
