In this Eve hybrid mattress review, we take a closer look at the successor of the original Eve mattress.
We look to uncover if the combination of springs and foam work for or against this new offering from Eve.
How is the Eve hybrid mattress, bouncy? comfortable? worth the money?
To find out let’s get this Eve hybrid mattress review started (SUMMARY AT THE END).
Eve Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Eve hybrid mattress is designed from London and created in their UK-based factory. As its name suggests this is a hybrid mattress, a mattress combining the comfort of foam as well as the support from springs. Eve jumped onto the rapidly growing hybrid mattress movement to create the Eve hybrid mattress and combine the best of both worlds.
All of their raw materials Eve sources are from National Bed Federation members so you can rest assured the materials are of the highest quality.
A step further is taken to ensure quality in their mattresses as well as safety. Eve only uses foams that are CertiPUR® certified, which guarantees all foams used in the mattress are independently tested to make sure no harmful chemicals are used. Additionally, all foams are also CFC and PBDE free (chemicals that damage the ozone layer). And finally, Eve complies with ISO 9001 quality standards, which are strict quality controls throughout the manufacturing process.
Eve Hybrid Cover Review
The Oekotex certified top white panel of the mattress cover is made from 98% polyester and 2% elastane. This blend provides excellent moisture-wicking properties so the heat does not sit and get sticky.
Do you often get your mattress dirty? if so Eve has made this top cover very practical, it can be easily unzipped and thrown into the wash at up to 40° Celsius.
As for the bottom and side panel, this is a durable polyester fabric to ensure longevity in the cover. It is also pretty breathable that way air can flow from underneath of the mattress as well.
Eve Hybrid Foam Layers
1. Evecomfort® Layer (3cm)
Traditional memory foam can feel too sinky at times, that's why Eve created its very own Evecomfort® foam. The Evecomfort® foam is springier than common memory foam and is also 30 times more breathable.
2. Transition Foam Layer (2,5cm)
The springs are protected by a transition foam layer. This layer is also used to shift the weight from the comforting top layer to the supporting spring layer which we will get into next.
3. Spring Layer (9cm)
With over 650 individually wrapped springs, you can rest assured that body motion is quickly reacted to. This means that the springs respond immediately in an individual fashion to provide optimal pressure relief, especially in your hip and shoulder areas.
It is very important to note that the Eve hybrid mattress uses 90mm springs which are much longer than the standard 20mm micro coils other hybrids use. So if you like a bouncier/springier feeling mattress the Eve hybrid is a safe bet.
4. Base Layer (3,5cm)
With memory foam mattresses this final foam layer is generally the support base but because the support comes from the full-sized springs this foam layer acts as a foundation for the springs to sit on. Creating an even distribution of comfort.
How Thick Is the Eve Hybrid Mattress?
The total height of the Eve hybrid mattress is 18cm which is relatively slim for a hybrid mattress. So you may need to double-check that your sheets will fit otherwise they may be loose. This also may make it a great option for a guest room or kids room.
The Eve hybrid mattress is quite robust as it is able to hold up to 18 stone (114 kgs) per person. Based on 2 people per bed.
Eve Hybrid Mattress Firmness
As previously mentioned the support comes from the large springs, these springs give the Eve hybrid mattress a firmer feel than the rest of the online mattresses on the market. In this Eve hybrid mattress review, we give it a 7 out of 10 on our firmness scale with 10 being the firmest.
Eve has always been known as the bright yellow mattress that makes a statement. We like the colour mix of the Eve hybrid mattress as it still easily noticeable that it is an Eve mattress but combined with a more neutral tone that way it can be placed almost in any environment and look great.
Eve Hybrid Mattress Trial and Warranty
As with all Eve mattresses, the Eve hybrid comes with a 100-night risk-free trial. What does that mean? that means when you purchase the mattress, Eve will deliver it to your door free of charge, you can then sleep on the mattress as you normally would and if you are not 100% convinced within this 100-night trial, Eve will pick it up for free from your bedroom and give you a full refund. No tricks, no hidden charges.
On top of that, the Eve hybrid mattress comes with a 10-year warranty which covers you in the long run.
Eve Hybrid Mattress Delivery
The bed in a box industry has been growing rapidly here in the UK and it makes perfect sense as to why it's just so convenient. Once ordered the Eve hybrid will be in front of your door within 3 working days. The mattress comes rolled, vacuum sealed and in a 100cm x 51cm x 51cm box.
From our experience with hybrid mattresses that we have reviewed, we would recommend you don't leave the mattress compressed in the box as this may affect the springs. From what we gathered don't leave it in the box for more than a week but this will depend on each hybrid mattress.
