This Memory One Mattress review is from the very popular and trusted furniture retailer MADE. MADE has always been producing affordable high-end designed home pieces and the Memory One mattress is no exception.
MADE was definitely not sleeping on the job when they made this Memory One mattress (SUMMARY OF REVIEW AT THE END).
The Memory One mattress as the name implies is a memory foam mattress. It consists of 3 layers: a top cooling memory foam layer, a MADEFlex bounce back layer and finally an improved robust base layer specially designed for orthopaedic support. This is all neatly finished in a hypoallergenic quilted cover.
Like most MADE products the Mattress One is also proudly made here in the UK.
Memory One Cover
The top cover is a soft quilted polyester blend. The arched pattern on the topside is engineered for maximum comfort and at the same time for optimal cooling during the night. As previously mentioned the cover is hypoallergenic which means it is very unlikely to cause an allergic reaction which is a great plus for this mattress.
The grey sides of the cover are made with micropores to induce more airflow from the mattress sides for a healthy sleeping climate.
What we would have liked to see on the Memory One mattress are handles which make it more practical but you will have to ask yourself how often you will be moving the mattress. MADE state that you should only do professional clean to get any stains or muck out of the mattress.
The Memory One Foam Layers
1. Top Cooling Memory Layer (2,5cm)
This top layer is a cooling memory foam layer. Memory foam is generally extremely conforming which makes it perfect at a comfort level but it is also known to be heat retentive. However, MADE has used a less dense version of memory foam in order to keep the comforting properties and at the same time reduce the heat retention.
2. MADEFlex Layer (2,5cm)
This layer is MADE’s very own MADEFlex layer, this layer is the transition layer between the top comfort layer and the lower support base. MADE has incorporated a cooling gel into the foam to give it that extra coolness. This layer also has springy properties which give you a quick bounceback when needed.
3. Robust Base Layer (20cm)
The Memory One mattress base layer is an orthopaedic foam to help support body weight & aching muscles. A good mattress always has a great foundation and this improved support layer is great! It will not only stand the test of time but also support you where it’s needed to keep your spine always perfectly aligned.
How Thick Is the Memory One Mattress?
After adding all the layers, including the cover the total thickness of the mattress is 25cm. This is also the industry standard here in the UK for most mattresses.
The Memory One Mattress Firmness
From the Memory One mattress review, we have given it a 6,5 out of 10 on the firmness scale. Sleep experts recommend a medium feeling mattress to the vast majority of sleepers unless you need a specific solution.
Aesthetics and Design
MADE have gone with a neutral colourway for the One Mattress. From the mattresses reviews we have done we have noticed that many of the companies have chosen a standard grey and white mix. This is because it can easily look aesthetically pleasing in any room even if it is not covered.
What does make the Memory One stand out is the ridged top cover which gives it more depth in terms of texture which does slightly differentiate it from the rest.
Mattress Trial and Warranty
MADE has always been pushing the furniture standard and with the Memory one mattress, it is no different. They offer a 101-night trial whereas the competitors offer a 100-night trial. It is not a big difference but it shows the intention from MADE, which is to always be better.
This means you have 101 nights to try out the mattress and if you are not happy within this timeframe you can send it back.
MADE is also so confident in their mattress that they offer a 10-year warranty on the mattress, which covers you in the long run as well.
The Memory One Mattress Delivery
The Memory One mattress is delivered in a 100x37x37 cm box. In all our mattress reviews we recommend not storing the mattress in the box for more than 2 days as this may affect the elasticity of the mattress.
Dispatch is within 7 business days from the date of order. Please note that dispatch is when they send the mattress to their delivery partner, not the date it arrives at your door.
Delivery is at a cost of £25. It is to your door and you will receive an SMS & Email notification the night before delivery by DPD and on the day of delivery, you will receive a 1–hour time slot with an option to reschedule or deliver to a local shop. Although the delivery is not free it is however very convenient.
