Leesa Sapira Mattress Review

The Sapira is the newest and most advanced hybrid mattress created by Leesa. Our Leesa Sapira mattress review found the combination of pocketed springs and faster-responding foam makes for a nice additional offering from Leesa.

Let’s dive right into the Leesa Sapira Mattress Review (SUMMARY AT THE END).

Leesa Sapira Mattress Construction

We will start off this Leesa Sapira mattress review by saying it is the best mattress Leesa have made. The Sapira comes after 25 years of mattress design. It is a hybrid mattress, made up of 5 layers (top comfort layer, memory foam contouring layer and premium pocket springs nestled between two sheets of support foam). This is all neatly finished in a premium cover.

The mattress is CFC free, this means it is not made with any chlorine elements that deplete the ozone. It is also proudly manufactured in the UK.

Sapira Mattress Cover

The cover is a single knitted length of fabric that is made to look seamless. Apart from looking so modern and luxurious, it is also practical. Leesa’s famous four stripes, found at the end, indicates the side you have been using, so you can easily rotate it and increase the lifespan of the mattress.

Leesa does not recommend removing the cover for washing. Unfortunately, you will have to bring out the good old damp cloth to clean up any spills.

Leesa Sapira Mattress Layers

1. Top Performance Layer (4cm)

The cooling Avena® foam is a key selling point for Leesa. This is Leesa’s very own patented polyurethane foam. This performance layer doesn’t retain heat and is softer than regular polyurethane foam.

2. Transition Memory Foam Layer (4cm)

This memory foam layer provides body contouring and pressure relief to your body. Memory foams slow responsiveness make this the perfect transition layer

3. Support Foam Layer (2,5cm)

Also known as the stabilising layer, this high resilience polyurethane foam acts as a medium between the memory foam and the pocket springs to give a seamless transition through the layers.

4. Pocket Spring Layer (15cm)

The second last layer is made up of 15cm pocketed springs. These are individually wrapped, meaning every spring moves independently. Therefore the body contouring does not stop at the top layers but is also extended throughout the whole mattress.

The Leesa Sapira mattress is more suited to those who like a bit of bounce in a mattress, and a lift out of bed.

5. Support Foam Layer (2,5cm)

Finally, a second polyurethane layer is placed below the springs and provides a supportive base for them to rest on.

From other online mattresses, you will notice that the base layer takes on the support role in the mattress. The Leesa Sapira however, uses the springs as its main support layer.

How Thick Is the Mattress?

In total it is 28 cm thick, the Leesa Sapira mattress can also hold up to a maximum of 18 stone or 114kg per person (2 people on the bed).

Leesa Sapira Mattress Firmness

The mattress scores a 6,5 out of 10 on the firmness scale from our Leesa Sapira mattress review.

The fusion of the support base foam, 15cm pocket spring and softer top layers ensures quick counter pressure response. The construction also allows for air to move through the mattress when pressure is applied.

Mattress Design

There is something about this particular mattress that just oozes luxury, we really like this look. What makes it stand out is the diamond stitching that runs over the surface of the cover and the seamless edges.

You would not expect this sort of mattress come delivered in a box that’s for sure.
